Well, I recently had blood tests done on several hormones (GH, cortisol, thyroid, prolactin, progesterone, estrogen... probably more, I can't remember what the heck I do anymore... lol) and the doc says all is fine. (Maybe the progesterone is a bit low, but within "limits". I had tried going on progesterone a couple months ago in hopes it would help the fatigue, but I stopped taking it because whatever energy it gave me I would pay for afterward... felt like I had twice as much fatigue.) Of course I definitely know there's something going on. A good indication that there are hormone issues... I always feel good one to two days before my period... then, all the bad symptoms come right back (the anxiety, fatigue, apathy, headaches, etc). They all return and I lose my old self again. While it's nice to get a glimpse of who I once was... one day a month just doesn't cut it. I know the blood tests can't always reflect what's going on... we get the hormone surges and they fluctuate from day to day. But to me this indicates it's definitely brain/hormone related issue. Anyway, as a last effort, the doc suggested I try Wellbutrin in the hopes it will relieve some of the anxiety and peaks and valleys of fatigue. In the meantime, he has agreed to support me as I will finally be getting the ball rolling to apply for disability (been out of work since January). (I'm going to apply through Binder&Binder as I just don't have the desire or energy to deal with the paperwork or anything.) Has anyone done the Wellbutrin? Did it work to help you? What kind of side effects did you experience? The doc assured me that this "anti-depressant" is not one that would effect the prolactin (Had it not been for these message boards, I would not have even known to ask about that! I'm truly thankful for this wonderful resource!) Sorry for being lengthy. Maybe someone posted about the Wellbutrin in the past, but I couldn't find it... and I certainly couldn't remember where it would have been (lol). Well... good health and happiness to all! Oh... and <HUGS!> Azzulerya |
