Kevin- I had Acromegally (which has been 'cured' after having the tumor removed) as well as low testosterone & I sweat terrible- It can, as you say, come out of nowhere- but I find the worst times are when I get nervous- I break out in full body sweats- it was so bad my last doc visit I had to grab some paper towels and mop up lol- it's a cold/hot/clammy sweat too- not a healthy kind of sweating- feels like a flu type of sweat. I also have terrible night sweats almost every night. Being on the testosterone gel didn't do hardly anything to stop it either although it did bring my levels back to normal before the surgery. My deal they think might be polymyosits- a muscle problem where the muscles break down & can't use the bodies natural energy producing systems. We're not sure if that's what it is yet, but it appears to be as a urine test showed protien in the urine which happens when muscles break down. Polymyosits causes sweating too as does Crohn's disease which I also have- so it's hard to tell what is causing what. I didn't really like being on the Androgel- it was messy, stunk to high heaven & just a pain to apply- but it did the trick for my levels. I've read that there is also somethign else you should be taking if you have to be on it long term- soemthign that stops the testosterone from converting into estrogen? I guess the conversion is what causes most of the problems associated with taking extra testosterone. |
