loafer- I had ot discover my own tumor as well- For about 12 years I had been having muscle problems where they were weak and I couldn't do anythign without htem burning & being painful- Every Doc I went to tried to tell me it was either my Crohn's disease or depression- for 12 years this went on- all the blood test results failed to show anythign wrong. Then, the local doc in town left & we got another one-

I had been researching muscle weakness problems on the internet & ran across a condition called lactic acidosis which causes muscle burning upon minimal exhertion- I went in & once again went through the symptoms I'd been having & he at first tried to suggest depression- I kept stating that yeah, the symptoms do resemble depression but they alsomight indicate other problems as well- he admitted that they did, I said "Doc, I've run the gammut of depression meds and nothing has helped- I beleive something else is going on here" and then after I metnioned the night sweats, he asked me one simple question "How's you libido?" I was kinda taken aback- I hadn't thought about it for a long time- but when the question was put to me I had to admit "non existant" He said right away- "We should run some hormone test."

Lo and behold, the tests showed low testosterone, high prolactin, low DHEA and a couple of others out of whack- they ran an MRI and whatta ya know- Pit tumor! I had acromegally! Long story short- tumor was removed, Acromegally was 'cured' hormones went back to normal but libido still kinda real low & the muscles still have the burning problem which we're searchign for the reason now- but at least Docs aren't constantly sugesting it's just depression anymore which is a major relief.

Surprisingly I found out that a whooping 1 in 4 people will develope a tumor in their lifetime- You'd think that Docs would be more vigilant in screening for them instead of writing people's symptoms off as 'depression'- I went 12 years telling Docs something bad was going on with my muscles & they kept suggesting depression- it was so frustrating- it made me depressed fighting with them lol- J/K-
