I haven't posted in quite awhile, although I do read the threads. I just got back from my endo.'s office and I am quite frustrated, to say the least. My weight is ridiculously high, my periods are completely sporadic again, and I am exhausted most of the time. Although my endo. is checking my prolactin and thyroid levels, he didn't seem to have much concern that anything was "clinically wrong," and spent most of the time talking to me about how I needed to watch my calorie intake, exercise at least five days a week and lose 30 lbs. He said that I "looked fine" (as he stared at my face) and then wanted to know if my legs were swollen. (I didn't even ask why he was checking that out.) Then he went on to tell me that I will probably need to go see my GYN, since the sporadic periods might have more to do with my age; I'm now 40.
I left feeling like I needed to switch my endo, but he is actually supposed to be a really good one in town. I may have to check our 2007 insurance plan to see if my previous endo is on that plan and I may just have to go back to him. At least he acted concerned when I had symptoms and didn't just tell me to lose weight.
Thanks for the vent, Martha |
