Hi Jenny, I to have arcomegaly and what a surprize I'm in the same basket as
you. I had Surgury in 2004 at UCSF by Dr. Kunwar and I'm currently seeing Dr.
Katznelson at Stanford. Both great doctors. I can e-mail them questions
anytime and they get back to me within 24 hours. My IFG-1 levels are a little
high 245 using a range of 80 to 220. I have tried all the drugs over the last
3 years. Sandostatin worked and lowered my IGF-1 levels down to 137, but the
only problem is no matter what drugs I try and always have bad fatigue almost
like a dull head ache. Every acromegaly patient is different. I'm currently
just started taking Somavert per Dr. K. Your in good hands so keeping
moving forward. In my research most acro people still have different issues
with the disease but some can find the right treatment to get back on their
feet. I think this web site is a great place to hear good stories and keeps
your sprits up. If you ever want talk please email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Good luck, Dave
