----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: joema Message 5 in Discussion I have a prolactinoma, am on Dostinex, and have had chronic depression/apathy since the prolactinoma onset. Dostinex controlled my hormone levels and improved the emotional symptoms about 50%, but I never felt normal. Tried most of the SSRI antidepressants, plus all three atypical antidepressants -- Serzone, Remeron and Wellbutrin. Nothing really helped. My Dr. finally tried Ritalin (Methylphenidate), 5mg 3x/day. It made a significant improvement in my ability to focus, concentrate, and get things done. I'm still not well, but it's the only drug that made a noticeable improvement. I suggest any pituitary patients with depression/apathy syndrome who are non-responsive to antidepressants discuss the ADHD drugs (Ritalin, Adderall, etc) with their Doctor. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/PituitaryChat/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
