----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: MinnieChat Message 2 in Discussion The fat might be the buffer you need until the radiation goes into effect, then as long as the tumor that is left (if it is left) on the gland grows, the doctos can manage that seperately. I have a friend who had an acth secreting tumor grow into the cavernous sinus. Surgery did remove it off the gland, and they did radiosurgery on the cavernous sinus area - similar procedure to what you describe. She was told that there was a slight liklihood that she might loose some pituitary hormones from the multiple surgeries (not the radiosurgery - since the aim was not at the pituitary). It seems to have worked, because not only is she in cushings remission, she had her second child this last year. I can only think that many surgeons don't do his technique simply because of patient demographics and expertise. I'm glad you consulted with him. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/PituitaryChat/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
