Tina, yes I have spoken with Dr Shahinian myself and he would be my first choice if I could afford him. :( His website has some great info and video clips explaining different surgery approaches. I had a tele conference with him and he was very easy to talk with, explained things extremely well and was very compassionate. People have 2mm and larger tumors removed all the time. The smaller the better in terms of being able to use the newer method of going in through your nose vs. cutting through the skull. Two other great docs are Dr Jho of Allegany Hospital in Pittsburgh and Dr Ian McCutheon at MD Anderson. You deserve to be functional!!!! I would consider getting another endo opinion if you think your current endo would not approve surgery.
