Hi Acro, So glad to hear you are doing well so far. Really? A third surgery?
That would have made me run for the hills if I had to have a third round. My
second surgery was so awful(8 days in the hospital), that I am glad I was told
that my pit tumor would continue to regrow if I didn't have the gamma knife
radiosurgery(also a rough experience). I go in for my yearly MRI on the 17th
of this month and soooo not looking forward to it. I know it needs to be done
because of being on GH treatments and making sure my radiated residual tumor
isn't trying to grow back. I do have a small cyst or tumor like growth in one
side of my sinuses and was just told that I may develop allergies and be prone
to sinus infections. Yeah, that isn't pleasant...lol There does have to be
residual tumor left for the radiation to aim for, and that is why on my second
surgery, the surgeon purposely left some there. But, the radiosurgery(gamma
knife) damaged by pit gland and that is why my GH dropped to a very low level.
They are still expecting my thyroid to go next, but so far so good. :)
With the low sodium levels, I would think backing away from fluids, but just
putting saline with sodium and potassium through your IV should raise your
sodium level and not wash it away like when drinking plain water. Well, take
care and hope you have a speedy recovery with no additional problems ahead.
Peace, Judy
