I just had my surgery by Dr. Shahinian at the Skull Base Institute. He has the latest and greatest technology. He removed the entire tumor without touching normal tissue. He is in California and has done many patients around the world!!!!! Just look up the Skull Based Institute on-line!!!!! I had a "perfect" surgery!!!! No DI or any other complications. I went back home to Arizona the Monday following my Thursday surgery. I had MRI done each year with complete blood test each 6 months. It has been the see and watch game since the last 6 years. I have no symptoms really except high prolactine (72) and headaches which I am not sure it is coming from my tumor. The size has been pretty stable rangince from 1.6cm, 1.2cm, 1.7cm, 1.6cm. 1.9cm and this year 1.7cm BUT it has enlarged to 2 x 2 cm. I am meeting my neurosurgeon next Tuesday (Sept.25) and since it has grown two years in a row now, I am sure he will suggest surgery. I don't doubt my neurosurgeon skills BUT he has NEVER performed a pit tumor before. And was scare me most is my endo told me that he will REMOVE ALL MY PIT GLAND and I will be on medicine for the rest of my life. I am from Montreal, Canada but I am willing to travel to the States to find the best neurosurgeon with EXPERIENCE for this surgery. I really NEED YOUR HELP here so I can make arrangements to meet 1 or 2 top neurosurgeon for this surgery. I do not want to take any chances. Your help is appreciated.
