----------------------------------------------------------- From: liltrubin Message 5 in Discussion Loppy: No confusion!!!! Do not let them get to you!!!! Almost 1/2 of all pit tumors are not seen on an MRI and the Radiologist really needs special training in how to read these. You can always have your films reviewed by someone who does nothing but read these types of films. I had this happen to me as well. I brought some crappy films in to a neurosurgeon who could clearly see the tumor but I also had this "dumbbell shape Pit Gland. Well 5 years later there was no "dumbbell shaped" pit gland it was the tumor all along!!!! Excuse peoples ignorance and more on with your treatment. Seriously, it is probably there. My records all said possible until last April and I had the stupid thing all along and now I have beautiful pictures of them taking the thing out of my head-:) I know your confused, I know you want answers but they did give you the answers. There must be something about putting them in "writing." It could be normal for women your age to me sounds like it is not-:) As long as your endo is going to continue to treat your symptoms relax and find out what your next step is. Are you seeing a neurosurgeon that regularly takes these things out? If so they probably have a radiologist that they use all the time who is proficient at reading our MRIs! Also, the neuro can just look and see. They are good at these things. Do not worry about what is on paper at the moment. Just take a deep breath, become comfortable with your diagnosis of a Pit tumor and worry about the rest later-:) I am sure we are not the only two people here that had someone say "yup, there is a tumor" and then the paperwork says possible or it could be normal-:) You have better things to focus on then some doc covering their malpractice butt! I was diagnosed with a pit tumour four months ago. Then they lost it. Literally! I received a letter saying as my test results where in normal ranges, I couldn't possibly have a tumour. Saw next endocrinologist, who said yes possibly a tumour. The radiologist then sent him a new report on the original MRI, which stated " could be the pituitary of a normal women your age, however could be indicative of an adenoma". 'scuse my confusion. I have all the symptoms of Cushings, so dr's have finally decided to do a full work up and actually test the pituitary and adrenal hormones. I'm so confused!! ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/PituitaryChat/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
