Hi Tina - the surgery itself wasn't that bad, scary before of course, but the 
tumor ended up being a germinoma which is a type of cancer.  He then had to 
have chemo treatments and then radiation for a month.  Let's just say 2005 
wasn't a very good year.  I think the worst thing he had to go through was the 
water deprivation test for his diabetes insipidus.  That's what he would tell 
you anyway.  He is doing fine now, on ddavp, synthroid and growth hormones.  He 
just broke the 5 foot mark which was a very big deal for us. I did a ton of 
research, including reading this board and others.  From what I understand, 
most adults that have this go a long time before they are properly diagnosed.  
Thank goodness that wasn't the case.     Thanks for asking btw!
