Hi, new to this board. This is probably horrible, but I don’t remember the
particulars of my surgeries or any of my numbers or stats - diagnosed in 2003,
macro, first surgery that February, surgeon didn’t get much of it, second
surgery { new surgeon, new hospital} that August, most out but some tumor left.
Gh levels are within normal range for a few years, so I coast for a while .

GH levels are now up and my endo put me on Sandostatin last week - .2 mg three
times daily. By the first evening I have a pretty bad headache that goes away.
By the second day I develop a really severe headache about 2 hours before I am
due for my next shot, {as the medicine is dissipating in my system } and within
10 minutes of the new dose I feel as good as new. This continues with each
dose, including waking up at 5 am with the intense pain as I am due for a dose
at 7. Like clockwork, as my body withdrawals , it means tremendous pain. These
were not the kind or severity of headaches that I was having at “baseline” ,
before going on the med.

The doctor on-call was, at best, unsympathetic. I was able to talk to my
regular endo and he doubled my dose of Sandostatin, so far I have experienced
the same thing only with a bit less severe headaches. Any ideas? Could this
hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia? So far I have not gotten any indication that my
doctor knows why I am having this response and it kind of scares me. Any help
is appreciated, thank you in advance.
