Jen, It is unfortionate that you as a young woman need to consider your
overall health or conceiving another child. I, like you was found to have a
tumor when I was in my early 30's. I had a two year old son and enjoyed very
good health prior. I have tried Dosinex-felt crazy/moody and ugly on that at
the start. I had the tumor debulked 2004 at MGH. I had normal Prolactin
levels post-op and was pregnant one month later. I was not on any medication
therapy during pregnancy and had pretty good IGF levels and felt well. I
delivered a healthy son 2005. Soon after that my IGF climbed. I was on
Sandostation 40 mgs IM monthly to limit tumor growth although my IGF did not
lower. My endo added Somavert to chip away at the IGF. I did that for nearly
a year and finally went through Proton-beam radiation at MGH in 2007, not a
decision that should be made without much education and thought. I was informed
it would take nearly a year for results. Well my latest MRI showed possibly
smaller residual tumor and my IGF is finally in a good range with the
Sandostatin 40 mgs monthly and Somavert 10 mgs 4 x's wkly. There is a lot
to consider to add to your family, and when is the best time. A second child
is a great deal of work. How healthy do you feel? I have a great husband and
lots of family support. I will tell you our second child is a blessing just as
our first. Best wishes to you, Julie
