Hi All, I am having such a difficult time to find a regular endocrinologist
in the Montreal area. I need someone who has experience with acromegalic
patients like my self, a suffer of this disease for more than 20 years. If I
cant find a regular endo than I suppose a real one specialized in pituitary
tumors is out of the question. My question is does anyone know of or had been
to a great endo in eastern Canada. I feel myself loosing a grip on life day by
day. The symptoms are getting worst including pains in the heart and
incredible weakness. These symptoms are the worst since I had my surgery 11
years ago for my pituitary tumor. Dont know what to do and even my regular
physician is having a hard time to find me an endocrinologist. He told me to
be patient and it will happen in a few weeks. Dont know if I will be around in
a few weeks, I wonder if I will have a cardiac problem in the middle of the
night and just die away and out of everyones memory. Do the medical
professionals really care about us acromegalic patients? The results from my
last blood work show my testosterone was at 11 (in the morning with a reference
range of 10-30.) My ACTH was very low and cortisone low as well. The doctor
only gave me some cortisone for now (20mg in am and 10mg in pm) and told me to
wait for the testosterone to be prescribed by a specialist. But when and who?
Nobody can tell me while I am getting sick everyday. Does anybody have any
suggestions on what I can do next or do I have to remain a guinea pig. I am
taking Sandostatin Lar 30mg every month as well. The sandostatin brought my GH
and IGF-1 levels to normal range. ??? Gary
