The physicians are waiting for things to settle down after the trauma of the surgery. Acromegaly is a pain in the patouty type of disorder. If you are lucky the surgery will take care of everything and you can go on with life. If the surgery is not completely successful there is alot of tweaking and follow-up necessary. At one time acromegaly lead to a shortened lifespan usually as a result of cardiac problems related to the increased growth hormone. Now acromegaly is a manageable disorder but it does take some tweaking.
