went to the MGH-Boston on 4/16. I mentioned to Doc. my dad has the same pit
tumor and she said we will need to check your calcium levels because since you
have it, your dad and cousin have it it could be M.E.N. Well she called me on
sunday (great doctor)and said calcium levels are within normal range(30-100)
mine is@ 63. I am doing fine with everything else all my levels were within
normall range. I will have to have an MRI in 6 mos to check on pit tumor havent
had one in 2yrs. I am in great shape the best I've ever been. Weight is
awesome. I still have to take metformin for the PCOS though. It helps my
periods come each month. Doc did mention If I start to lose anymore weight they
might lower dose. But I do weight.cardio training 3-4 times a week so I dont
know if thats the main cause of weight loss. I am 5.9 @ 154lbs. in 2004 I was
204lbs. I eat well sometimes not so well but I work out faithfully cuz I am
scared of gaining it back. I am always afraid my levels will get screwd up
again or period will stop and weight starts creeping up again. so I weigh
myself once a week. The only other non-hormonal thing is my GI tract. I have
been coughing/choking at night, & clearing my throat all during the day. And
my food/liquids get stuck down in the esophoagus I have to jump up and down to
make it go down. So finally went to the docs who then did a barium swallow and
they detected a stricture and are going to see what it is by doing a edoscopy.
Has anyone had that procedure done or had a stricture? thanks for listening dj
