----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: MinnieChat Message 5 in Discussion Hi Chris! I am currently housed in one of the high-rise buildings behind MDAnderson in the Texas Medical Center. I had worked for MDA for about 10 years, and was offered a wonderful new position about 9 months ago. I miss the people there! We live in Sugar Land, and were lucky in that we had one broken limb, a few roof shingles missing, and a shrub that we had to cut down due to the winds wipping it to pieces during the storm. However, it was devastation to go block after block, street after street and see all of the limbs down. We got power back on after 2 days, but many people we still know are without power, water and sewer. The following photos was common in most of the neighborhoods (street after street) in west Houston (west of IH 45). Some of the houses had roof damage and water damage too. Alot of fences were lost. The older neighborhoods really got it because the elecrical service is all overhead lines. We were more fortunate in that the neighbor hood is all underground. In our case, the main overhead feeder lines were damaged when a pole snapped in half and took a few transformers with it. Dr. McCutcheon is a wonderful doctor. He has been following my case for years, even though I had surgery in Portland 4 years ago. I think you all are in really good hands. I don't know when you will be leaving, but if you like...let me know if you would like me to visit.
