Hi, Green, I've stayed out of this discussion since I never took Bromo --
didn't think I could add to that comparison discussion. But I can understand
your fear of the side effects of both. They can make a person's life miserable.
But never forget this assurance: THEY CAN WORK! In my first six months on Cab,
my macro prolactinoma shrank to 1/3 its orignal size. Prolactin levels dropped
from over 12,000 down to the double digits. Also check the thread Prolactin
level 11.3, where Maureen nears the end of five years of treatment, to
impressive numbers. In that discussion, I tell about just starting my increased
dosage, over 30 times that mentioned here by Sarah. I'm sitting here,
suffering from the effects of that high dose. But I do want to emphasize, THE
EFFECTS ARE NOT 30X WORSE! But the extra headaches, body aches, etc. are bad
enough that I'm going to ease back to 3 tabs, twice a week. Yet I do have
confidence in my endo, and I'll ease up to the four .05 tabs, semi-weekly, that
he prescribed. In the year that I've been on Cabergoline, I think the worst
side effects were at the beginning, when I took half a 0.5 tab, two days a
week. Even when I graduated to a full tablet, and then two, I suffered but
admitted it was bearable. My prolactin level was 62 last month, down from 90.
Had it not dropped from 90, I may have been facing surgery. Instead, he upped
the dose yet again. We suffer. But it's worth it. Just remember, when you're
feeling your worst, you're not alone. There ARE success stories. Willard
