Another useful standard component for reporting errors could be one that show an Exception, and the full Stacktrace below but displayed only when a Detail button/link is pressed (by default its area is not expanded). I used this but in web pages, and if i remember well, also SwingX should have a component like this. What do you think ? Bye, Sandro
