Yup. In fact I think i got banned on 0.95.3 as well. :) I thought someone spammed the list using my address and forgot about it. About which way to go, I'm good with squashing upstream commits. The only thing to note is that, this way, upstream commits (e.g. security patches) cannot be cherry picked from debian/unstable. They'll need to be picked straight from the upstream remote instead.
