package: devscripts
version: 2.10.23
severity: important
Hi,
since you have promoted all of devscript's Suggests to Recommends in
the last upload, devscripts want to pull an insane amount of packages
into my system (including oddities like openssh-server and emacs22). I
cancelled 'aptitude upgrade' after it calculated the dependency chain
for several minutes.
Please, I'd like to keep my productive system as small as possible -
it's the same system that I use for package creation. However, I
strongly believe that not all of the now recommended packages are that
important and that most of them should have stayed suggestions.
Installing the whole bunch and then manually removing them isn't an
option either on a productive system.
Please reconsider this change!
Cheers,
Fabian
