Exactly. The package RTI form and process is meant for sending the proposed information to a group of reviewers without requiring them to examine the package directly. It's a "heads-up" to allow for any issues to be resolved before the package gets delivered into the Release Engineering repository. The idea is to a) give a chance for feedback (like "is the package really needed in the miniroot?") and b) make sure that there are no surprises once it is time to build the Solaris image. > Perhaps the IPS repository submission process can automate many of these > checks. I think what you are suggesting is that a "request to package" process should be able to automatically fill in as many fields as possible, without the need for the submitter to make little checkmarks in boxes. That would be preferable provided that an IPS package has the required metadata. -- Alan S. _______________________________________________ pkg-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-discuss
