Yes, that's certainly doable, and I considered that - but we'd also need to rewrite sys-unconfig then. It and sysidconfig are utter swill piles (do an ldd on 'em sometime) and do need to be reworked. Longer term we need to design the system so that an un-configured system boots into a known state, including zones.
