Been monitoring the progress of this project, one of my primary
interests in IPS lies in using it to create minimal OpenSolaris images.
Based upon some recent posts which seem to suggest that putbacks have
improved the parser (i.e. '-f elfbits=32' command-line option is no
longer an error), I thought I'd revisit IPS from some time spent two
months ago. I use a list of 50 or so Solaris packages which comprise a
minimal image, and attempt to map those old Solaris package names to
their IPS counterparts.

With the latest drop, I don't get real far because issuing a 'pkg
install SUNWcs', installs an additional 58 packages! It includes things
like xorg and gnome libraries, fonts plus much, much more. Is this the
intention? Kinda defeats the purpose of a minimalist install.

Thanks,
