Shekar,
Since you are working with the Update Center distribution of IPS, it might be better to work with the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list to see if this a problem introduced by or specific to the Update Center distribution before taking it to the pkg-discuss alias. When working with the pkg-discuss alias, please be aware that there are the following differences between the OpenSolaris distribution of IPS and what Update Center distributes:

1. multi-platform - if you are seeing problems specific to Linux, Windows etc. 2. minimized python - UC includes a minimized python. This might lead to missing encodings if something was omitted 3. minor IPS code differences - UC takes a snapshot of IPS periodically and also includes some changes before they actually make it into the IPS gate.

Once we determine if there is actually a problem with the IPS software, then I'll be happy to help file the issue in such a way that it is independent of these differences.

Thanks.
Tom

Did not find manifest file in the repository. This are the bits (repository, IPS) which I downloaded as part of updatecenter (repo-sunos-sparc.zip, ips-sunos-sparc.zip)

Can you attach the manifest to your package? While we don't have any
explicit support for multibyte package names yet, this stack trace
    doesn't
look like that was the problem.
