Only that the reason we haven't done this validation to date is that most of the attributes have some chance of being inferred, or at least made up somewhat rationally, although our install code doesn't do that yet. Key attributes can't be made up, though (including "path" in this example) and will need to be validated for presence, regardless. It's all part of the publication morass we need to deal with.
