I still like that idea, but that's a bit rooted in the don't-deliver- 
stuff-outside-your-base-directory mentality of SVR4 packaging.

If you're rebuilding the SCF repository, it would be possible to  
scavenge the pkg database looking for manifests that were previously  
imported, wouldn't it?

But maybe having an intact pkg database isn't something that can be  
relied upon.

OK. That sounds like a sensible strategy for S10 as well, but I'll  
have to experiment a bit to be sure.
