Only the naming of functions and fmri_list -> fmris has changed. If the
names I've chosen are acceptable and the decisions I've made to put some
things off for later aren't controversial, please let me know and I'll
get this back in.

The summary of this change is that the indexer is changed to use the
image.py get_manifest function. A parameter is added so that image.py
won't add any manifests to its cache while indexing.
