That was the kind of thing I was thinking of if we
treat this as a generic pkg bug instead of a zone-specific
issue. I assume this could be seen in some non-zone
cases as well.

I'd like to get Danek/dp's view on the proposed solution.
However, I definitely agree with you that this bug isn't specific to
zones since you would have the same problem using image-create as a
normal user when the zfs-snapdir was set to visible.
