Hmm... actually, I think a restriction like that is what is not so nice ;) Unless I misunderstand it, not even directories can be shared by multiple packages? I think that will be a nightmare to enforce even within OpenSolaris, and I can't see how you can enforce it across package repositories. I can understand if you want to keep the directory attributes consistent. SVr4 packaging does that too. But what are the advantages of going further than that?
