Hi there,

On 2009.06, installed packages that contain the publisher in the fmri say:

pkg://release/SUNWruby18@<version string>

are indexed with a key that contains the publisher name, in this case 'release/SUNWruby18'.

For a package like SUNWruby18 where the IPS package name is not the same as the legacy package name(s) (SUNWruby18u and SUNWruby18r for ruby) pkg's indexes end up with no key that matches the package name, so the command:

pkg search -l SUNWruby18

will come back with no results.

On the other hand:

pkg search -l release/SUNWruby18
pkg search -l SUNWruby18u
pkg search -l SUNWruby18r

all work as they are all valid keys in the index.

Is this something that's known about or resolvable in anyway? There are multiple repositories involved so it's not easy to have the packages install without the publisher name in the fmri. There are workarounds, including using the legacy package name(s) as above, but we really want to be able to have it work consistently with the IPS package name.

Thanks

Amanda
