I don't think install-discuss is the right place for discussion audio driver issues. I don't know if there's an audio-specific forum, but I'd try driver-discuss, or anywhere else Garrett might be lurking. > so I was inclined to try and remove audio packages then directly > reinstall them, is this possible? It's possible, but it likely won't do any good. You can run "pkg fix SUNWaudiohd" if you think there's something wrong with the installation. > eo144...@kilcolgan:~$ pfexec pkg uninstall SUNWaudiohd > > Creating Plan \pkg: Cannot remove > 'pkg:/[email protected],5.11-0.123:20090911T194909Z' due to the > following packages that depend on it: > pkg:/[email protected],5.11-0.123:20090911T213925Z > > don't think a -r is wise here from reading man page. In this case, it is -- the only downside of removing slim_install from the system is that if new packages get added to the livecd, you won't also get them when you upgrade. That's probably not a big deal. Danek _______________________________________________ pkg-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-discuss
