Hey Shawn. Thanks so much for the detailed explanation. I really appreciate it.

I must've overgeneralized when my (entire-incorporation-constrained alternative) packages largely went AWOL. My bad. > Please note I'm only arguing for the *default* behaviour of the GUI > being what it is now with the List API changes (LIST_INSTALLED_NEWEST). Fair enough. And I suspected that would be the response from the get-go. Hence my original suggestion that the GUI guys implement some of this optionally in a future RFE. I would've been content with the equivalent of something in the ballpark of pkg list -n to get my wayward packages back in PM, but in light of this statement: > From what I can tell, it should be reasonably easy for the GUI to offer > a view menu of some sort that directly mapped to all of the LIST types I > showed above with the default being "List Installed and Available". I just asked for all of them. ;-) As a P5 enhancement if and when time and workload should permit. Thanks again. Take care. --joanie _______________________________________________ pkg-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-discuss
