Last 2 year I was working on OpenSolaris JeOS PURE CLI prototype for
Virtual Appliances and VM Templates (from 200805 to 200906 release), but
Update Center (and PKG GUI) client required X to present in such JeOS
instance, so as option I also evaluate in OpenSolaris 200906
possibility to run iPKG PM and in remote X session (without need to have
installed full X/GUI environment), I see significant install size
improvements in OSOL1003 B130, but also some not addressed issues like
then SUWipkg-gui don't depend on requred "dbus service and fonts" which
still can be easily address in final OSOL1003 release, see all observed
issues in B130:

Because, my job position in SUN was eliminated effective on 15 Jan 2010,
I don't have time to create a individual OpenSolaris BUGs for this 'iPKG
GUI in Remote X" related issues, please look in my this related blog
entry to find issues which need to be discusses and / or reported as
OpenSolaris relevant tracking bug.
