Adding a Clear button to the Log Dialog would be simple but not for this
release as that button text needs translated. So file an RFE and we'll
do it for the next release.
Note: the log files have a limit set on them and once that limit is hit
it rolls over, saving the previous log with a .1 extension. We keep one
level of backup.
/var/tmp/packagemanager_error.log
Hit limit - rollover:
/var/tmp/packagemanager_error.log: size 0
/var/tmp/packagemanager_error.log.1: size 1000000
Hit limit - rollover:
/var/tmp/packagemanager_error.log: size 0
/var/tmp/packagemanager_error.log.1: size 1000000

Also some log messages might be important, such as a mis configured
Publisher that you might want to come back to.

On a related note, is there any reason why these logged errors shouldn't
be deleted? As far as I can tell, the sorts of errors being logged are
not the sort that might later explain why one's system got into a funny
state.... Granted, one can delete the logs out of /var/tmp. But I think
it would be nice to be able to clear these things out within PM.
Put another way, if I file an RFE for this capability, is it a WONTFIX
or something you'd consider?
