Dear all,

For anyone who has ever setup an IPS mirror server (e.g. mirroring pkg.opensolaris.org/dev ), do your opensolaris clients download "most" of the pkg files from your mirror server? Thanks Shawn Walker's info! I understand that the "pkg metadata" would still need to be retrieved from the original server (http://pkg.opensolaris.org/dev). We have followed the specified instructions on setting up 2 local IPS mirror servers and kept in sync with the upstream server's pkg files. I have tried to use any of them to be the mirror server of http://pkg.opensolaris.org/dev, but all of the pkg install actions still downloaded all of the pkgs from the upstream server. I also set the PKG_DUMP_STATS=1 and found that there's always "Error" counts from the local ips server.

Hope anyone can shed some lights here! Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Ben
