We tried to update /usr/bin/gcc to point to the later version of gcc
but the problem is gcc 3.4.3 is still used by the opensolaris build.
Have bugs been filed to get the consolidations which use /usr/bin/gcc to
use a version-specific path -- possibly /usr/sfw/bin/gcc?
That is correct. I know both the ON and SFW build environments both
specify /usr/sfw/bin/gcc. Theoretically, it should be OK to switch
/usr/bin/gcc to a later version and keep all of the consolidations
building properly.
There is a verexec project underway that I hope will help users manage
multiple versions of a product:
