All,
First, sorry if this isn't the right forum for this.
Secondly, I'm not on the alias, so a cc on the reply would be nice.
So my problem is I have a variety of SVR4 packages which I need to install for
testing.
I installed build 134 on a test system, and I can't get the packages to install:
# uname -a
SunOS vscan-host 5.11 snv_134 i86pc i386 i86pc
# pkgadd -d . SUNWfoo
pkgadd: ERROR: no package associated with <SUNWfoo/>
# ls -l SUNWfoo
total 26
drwxr-xr-x 2 nobody staff 6 Dec 2 09:53 install
-rw-r--r-- 1 nobody staff 297 Dec 2 08:02 pkginfo
-rw-r--r-- 1 nobody staff 52520 Dec 2 09:52 pkgmap
drwxr-xr-x 6 nobody staff 11 Dec 2 09:53 reloc
I also tried copying them locally to /tmp and chmod'ing 777/chown'ing to root,
and it didn't make a difference.
The package installed fine on snv_133, so I'm guessing it's related to the IPS
swtichover in b134.
I thought there were plans to support SVR4 packages for a bit longer, no? If
not, are there any easy ways to turn an SVR4 package into an IPS package? This
also means I'd need to create a repository somewhere to hold the IPS packages too?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Drew
