Hi,

I am making some additions to /etc/logadm.conf. I notice that on
image-update
my new entries are absent, and I guess this is from the preserve=true
in the package manifest:

file path=etc/logadm.conf group=sys preserve=true

So how/can I merge in new entries after image-update?

If the new entries are required, that should be set to
preserve=renameold instead I think.

They are required, but I think renameold is no good for /etc/logadm.conf
as admins may have added their own entries and logadm also
keeps data on the last log rotation etc in logadm.conf itself (which
is unfortunate).

But otherwise, pkg(5) doesn't yet provide a mechanism for doing
preserved file transformation (merges, edits, etc.). One has been
proposed though.

I guess it will be one for the release notes then.

Thanks

Gavin
