Okay, it wasn't quite before, but most if it is, so I can see that. Fixed.
Why the addition of "var" in the data_files list in setup.py?
Because it doesn't get created in the proto/ area otherwise?
I assumed since we should deliver a 'var' directory since we create the
image metadirectory (typically) as /var/pkg.
There are link targets in other makefiles that should also disappear.
