I assumed since we should deliver a 'var' directory since we create
the image metadirectory (typically) as /var/pkg.
I guess it doesn't matter too much, but as long as we create the parents of
the image metadirectory along with the directory itself, then there's no
particular reason to carry it along.
We do create the parent directories if needed, so if that's what you
want, I'll remove it. I've also checked that the imageplan code
considers var and the img metadata directory fixed in the image so that
shouldn't be a problem either.
