Looking through a ton of check-deps.pl noise tonight, I saw:
*** /usr/bin/itu (system/core-os) requires /usr/sbin/pkgadd which is found
in package/svr4, but that is not listed as a package dependency.
And indeed it has a bunch of references to pkgadd, patchadd and pkgtrans - has
anyone looked at this to see if works at all with an IPS based system? The ISO
image creation seems like it should be replaced by distro-constructor.
These tools ($SRC/cmd/itutools) are designed to assist developers
or I[SH]Vs with creating Driver Update disks - so they can provide
support for Solaris 10 Updates.
If not, should it really still be in system/core-os?
Probably not.
Similarly:
*** /usr/bin/pkg2du (system/core-os) requires /usr/sbin/pkgadd which is
found in package/svr4, but that is not listed as a package dependency.
which appears to convert an SVR4 package to a "driver update" to be applied via
itu.
Correct
and:
*** /usr/bin/updatemedia (system/core-os) requires module
/usr/sbin/patchadd which could not be found in any package.
which really sounds like it's been obsoleted by distro-constructor:
# updatemedia - modify Solaris media with patches and packages
Well, not really - we're not doing DC for S10 :-)
