This seems like a good start, but it doesn't quite seem to address
release notes that should be displayed after initial installation (i.e.
there is no "original image"). Or did I just misunderstand part of the
design?
We had not considered such as release notes; at least, I had not.
Hmmmm. Would this be on initial installation of a particular package,
or only if this was the initial install of the entire system?
Initial reaction is both, initial install of a package and initial
install of the entire system.
The problem is that for this to work, this type of release note needs to
be in the package being installed; otherwise it doesn't change,
and won't show up in the actuator list and thus won't get
displayed.
If this is an acceptable constraint, we can make this work:
release-note=pkg:/feature/package/self@0
which we can special case to trigger display only on installation
if no previous version of the package is installed.
