There was a bug that allowed require dependencies to install packages
regardless of variant. In this particular case, you have
'ldoms-incorporation' installed.
Try uninstalling ldoms-incorporation, and then see if you can remove
entire.
Bart just putback a fix for the require bug.

The way you spoke with such certainty and authority had my hopes so
high. Alas, that's not the problem (or at least removing
ldoms-incorporation didn't fix it).
Feel free to poke around on sol-x4200-16 if that makes things easier.
