It's still maintained (as in, people make sure it compiles and works), but no longer developped. Considering the lack of manpower here in pkg-e, I don't feel like investing time into maintaining something that's not developped and for which I have no practical use (not to say that a large part of newly-developed applications use elementary) > 3.
