I have the same problem on similar hardware (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, 4 gig
RAM) and 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04.
I have tested a few GBA ROMs and get speeds of over 200%. (this is with
throttle=0 or throttle=100 in the cfg)
Trying to speed donw the emulation by using throttle valus of less than 100
gves choppy and jerky sound and gameplay.

Status in “visualboyadvance” package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
Binary package hint: visualboyadvance

Ubuntu 10.04 - 64-bit. I have not tested on 32-bit. Using the VisualboyAdvance
package 1.8.0-5.

When playing a Gameboy ROM on VBA, the speed is far above 100%, and stays up at
around 200-300%. If I throttle it to 100%, the sound and gameplay stutter and
are jerky. I get poor performance on Gameboy Advance Roms.

What I expected:
Games to stay around 100%, with smooth frame-rate, as my system should be
sufficiently powerful. (Intel 2.2ghz Dual Core, 3gb RAM)

What happens instead:
Roms are either too fast, and have stuttered playback, or perform poorly.
