to be marked as done.

Package: hadoop-bin
Version: 0.20.2+dfsg1-2
Severity: normal

The hadoop-defaults.sh script (included from /usr/bin/hadoop) contains:

CLASSPATH="${HADOOP_CONF_DIR}":
$JAVA_HOME/lib/tools.jar:/usr/share/hadoop:${HADOOP_CLASSPATH}:
${CLASSPATH}

if [ -f "${HADOOP_CONF_DIR}/hadoop-env.sh" ]; then
  . "${HADOOP_CONF_DIR}/hadoop-env.sh"
fi

However, at this point, neither ${HADOOP_CONF_DIR} nor
${HADOOP_CLASSPATH} is set. Thus, the script looks for /hadoop-env.sh
and, of course, never finds it. And I can't use hadoop-env.sh to add
stuff to ${HADOOP_CLASSPATH}.
