Package: kid3
Version: 1.4-1+b1
Severity: normal

Kid3 displays ID3v2 tags with the ISO-8859-1 charset even if it is configured to
use UTF-8 for these tags.

The configuration option can be found this way : Settings, Configure Kid3, Tags
tab, ID3v2 section, "Text encoding" option).

However, the "Text encoding" option for ID3v1 is working ok.

To reproduce :
If you do not have a mp3 with an ID3v2 tag encoded with UTF-8, you can use the
"id3v2" tool (packaged as "id3v2") to make one.

Provided that your console is using with UTF-8, you may add a utf8 comment to an
existing mp3 file like this :
 id3v2 -c "Bonne journée" myaudiofile.mp3

Then, the "é" character will not be displayed correctly with kid3, regardless of
what you charset configured to handle your tags (I have "Bonne journée"
instead).
