There is a jackd 2 package in experimental already. (currently only built for amd64 and ppc ... not sure who or what needs prodding for other archs.) There was an early thread about this where it was more or less decided that jack2 will replace jack1. If I understand correctly upstream doesn't recommend having them installed in parallel.
